Hello, I’m Benjamin Taggart…

I’m an illustrator, author, and former performer who’s lived in six cities (between four states). I’ve worked in circuses, carnivals, and kitchens. I’ve met the good, the bad, and the ugly. And I’ve recently spent four years crawling into my own head then out again to write a 110,000 word novel about an introverted artist who learns to see through alien eyes.

Posters And More…

I used to make posters for venues, events, and fellow performers. I didn’t want to be a public personality, so, since my initials are BOT, I worked under the name Poster Bot. You can click the following link to see some of my posters (and more) on DeviantArt.

Gonzo Journalism…

I used to be a journalist, writing and illustrating (under the pen name Poster Bot) for an online literary and arts magazine called The Monarch Review. I interviewed artists, authors, and many more exciting personalities throughout The Pacific North West, and you can read all about them by following the link below...

Books…

A Tale Of Two Beggars was written during the 2016 presidential election as an insanely misguided attempt to seduce Jill Stein. Follow the links below to see it on Amazon or Goodreads... but heads up... although it's a picture book, it was never intended for kids, and (because it's insane) it'll likely cause nightmares in most adults.

Menus And Kids' Pages…

I've wasted a lot of time working in kitchens. I was a kitchen manager once, and although I hated most of it, I did manage to enjoy designing the menu and kids' activity pages on the back. You can follow the links below to see printable copies of them... but again... although I loved making them, I'm not sure that they were actually done for kids.

More Journalism…

I spent the week leading up to Election 2016 in Vancouver BC. And when Donald Trump won, I spent the next morning standing in line at the Canadian immigration office. My editor at The Monarch Review was afraid to publish anything political, so I got the story published in NOW Toronto. Follow the link below to see how a bad editor can destroy a good story.

Even More Journalism…

The editor at NOW Toronto cut over 1,000 words from my election epic, so I got the rest of the story published in Gonzo Today, and that editor screwed up my art by being a bad graphic designer/HTML programmer. But at least the words were untouched. Follow the link below to read them.
